Microsoft Purview compliance portal: Insider Risk Management - Enhanced alert experience
This update introduces enhancements to the alert overview page to provide explanation of why an alert was generated and to improve the ability to review the riskiest user activities in an alert. Microsoft Purview Insider Risk Management correlates various signals to identify potential malicious or inadvertent insider risks, such as IP theft, data leakage, and security violations. Insider Risk Management enables customers to create policies to manage security and compliance. Built with privacy by design, users are pseudonymized by default, and role-based access controls and audit logs are in place to help ensure user-level privacy.
Microsoft Purview compliance portal: Insider Risk Management – Recommended actions enhancements
Recommended actions enhancements will include the ability to turn on weekly or daily email notifications for key events such as high severity alerts and all warnings summary along with additional suggestions to help optimize policy configurations. Microsoft Purview Insider Risk Management correlates various signals to identify potential malicious or inadvertent insider risks, such as IP theft, data leakage, and security violations. Insider Risk Management enables customers to create policies to manage security and compliance. Microsoft 365 Defender: Secure Score for Government Clouds
Microsoft Secure Score will be available for GCC-H, GCC-M and DoD for assessments on the following Microsoft products: Defender for Endpoint, Defender for Office 365, Defender for Identify, Defender for Cloud Apps and 3rd party applications (through Defender for Cloud Apps). GCC-H, GCC-M and DoD customers will be able to assess their security posture with Secure Score.
Microsoft Defender for Office 365: Within 4 hours option for notifications
We are adding a new Within 4 hours option to end user notifications, allowing users to be able to rely on prompt notification about quarantined items when appropriate. With this feature users can be rest assured that they will be updated frequently once new items lands on their quarantine folder.
Microsoft Teams: Teams Admin Center: Simplified navigation
Simplified Left Navigation for TAC feature aims to improve the administrator experience by reducing clutter and simplifying the navigation process. The feature will hide less used left navigation menu items by default and provide an option for administrators to pin them to the default view if they choose. This way the navigation will be tailored to the specific needs of each administrator, making it faster and easier for them to find the information they need.
Microsoft Teams: Mention Everyone in chat
Similar to how users @ mention individuals in chat, users will now have the option to @ mention “Everyone’. All participants in the chat will receive a notification, removing the hassle of mentioning each person’s name one by one or missing someone.
Microsoft Purview compliance portal: Audit (Standard and Premium) - New search (US Government clouds)
This is a new search for Audit (Standard) and Audit (Premium). This new search offers increased reliability and efficiency for search jobs. It also allows for search jobs to be completed in the background and saved for later reference.
Microsoft Defender for Office 365: Automatic management of allow expiration for Tenant allow block list
Allows in the tenant allow block list typically expire after 30 days, meaning legitimate email can continue to be blocked. With this change, Microsoft will automatically extend or remove allow rules based on an assessment of the particular entity.
Microsoft Teams: Call Merge for Teams on VDI
Availability of high/medium/low confidence levels to fine tune the match condition for any Sensitive Info Type in your Endpoint data loss prevention policies.
Microsoft Defender for Office 365: ZAP (zero-hour auto purge) alert enhancements
We are enhancing the successful ZAP (zero-hour auto purge) alert and introducing a new ZAP failure alert.
Microsoft Purview | Endpoint DLP – Improved classification accuracy (U.S. Government clouds)
Exchange: Customizable Message Expiration
A common request from Exchange Online admins is for the ability to customize the organizations message expiration timeout. When a message can't be delivered immediately due to a transient error, it will queue up and be periodically retried until either the message is sent or until the message expires 24 hours later. For some messages, 24 hours can be too long to wait only to find out a message wasn't delivered. So, we're introducing the ability for admins to customize the message expiration timeout to be less than 24 hours.
Windows 365: Windows 365 availability on GCCH
Windows 365 services will be available on US Government Cloud - High Security.
Microsoft Purview compliance portal: Information Protection - | Granular conditional access policies via “Sensitivity Labels” for SharePoint Online sites for GCC High and DoD
Admins will have the ability to use Azure AD conditional access policies to trigger multi-factor authentication (MFA), device and location policies on a specific SharePoint site collection based by simply attaching CA policies to a label.
Microsoft Teams: Live Transcript for Teams Meetings for GCC-High
Teams Meetings now have a real-time transcript during their meetings as well as a post-meeting transcript. This will help users in real-time recall what has been spoken during the meeting as well as review the meeting after the fact.
Microsoft Teams: Call control with bluetooth headsets and speakerphones
Use device buttons to control call (answer, end, hold) from Bluetooth audio devices without needing a USB dongle when connected to a Windows PC running Teams desktop client. For many headsets and speakerphones, this will work without requiring any user action to enable other than pairing the headset or speakerphone with the PC. Watch our certification page for additional information coming soon about devices tested to meet all certification criteria with native Bluetooth connections (w/o a USB dongle).
Outlook for iOS: format options for signatures
The text box to create a signature for your mobile email messages will support HTML formatting if you cut and paste from another source. Rich formatting such as bold, italics, underline, and links will also be available.
Outlook: Add image as attachment instead of embedded for iOS
Choose how you'd like to share photos through Outlook for iOS. Outlook makes it easier to send one or many photos from your gallery or cloud sources: as an attachment or embedded in your message.
Microsoft Defender for Office 365: Priority Account Protection for Government clouds
We're extending Priority Account Protection to cover customers in government clouds. With Priority Account Protection in Defender for Office 365, security teams can now prioritize focus on critical individuals within the organization, offer them differentiated protection and thwart costly breaches in the process. These Priority account tags and filters will surface throughout the product, including in alerts, Threat Explorer, Campaign Views, and reports.
Microsoft Teams: Exchange Contacts available in Calling pickers
Exchange contacts with associated phone numbers will be available as part of the drop down selection in all Calling people pickers, such as the Dialer or call transfer, for customers that have PSTN enabled.
Microsoft 365 compliance center: Microsoft Purview | Data Lifecycle Management - Multi-stage disposition review (US Government clouds)
This update allows organizations to use a multi-stage disposition process, including multiple stakeholders and reviews before deleting the content.
Exchange: Adding Outbound support for DNSSEC or DANE for SMTP to Exchange Online
Microsoft is committed to providing world-class email security solutions and the support for the latest Internet standards to provide advanced email protection for our customers. With this change we are adding outbound Support for DNSSEC or DANE for SMTP to Exchange Online.

An auto-labeling policy can now apply a label to Exchange Online email based on sender, recipient, subject, or header matches without requiring a scan for sensitive content. More info
Microsoft Teams: Support of Live Caption for Teams on VDI for Azure Virtual Desktop and Windows 365
GA: March 2022 (General Availability)
Teams users on Azure Virtual Desktop and Windows 365 on virtual desktop infrastructure (VDI) will be able to use live captions. Live captions display the text version of the audio during the call. Item has been delayed and is being rescheduled.
Microsoft Defender for Office 365: Quarantine support for shared mailboxes
GA: March 2022 (General Availability)
Users who have been granted delegate access to shared mailbox either through direct access or security group access will be able to triage the quarantine folder items of those mailboxes. This makes managing the quarantine for shared mailboxes easier for users. More info
